Our players, their talent and personalities inspire many artistic interpretations on and off the field. For example, 205 Front Row has taken tifos to the next level and, we might be biased, but these inspired designs are possibly some of the best fan displays in the world! This perfect marriage of sport and art can amp up any costume contest or holiday party.
What better way to end our season than to honor our home-state heroes by sporting their personas around the streets of New Mexico? Share the Somos Unidos spirit door to door, or to the most hoppin’ party in town on Halloween night!
You can always wear a jersey and a recognizable hairstyle to imitate our players this Halloween, but if you’re looking to take that up a notch to impress your friends or win a costume contest, we’ve got you covered.
Big Dev’s luscious locks have had many iterations, but perhaps none so ominous as the 205 Front Row tifo taking on Tacoma Defiance. Channeling some Davy Jones vibes from Pirates of the Caribbean, these tentacle-like dreads struck terror in our on-field enemy that night. So, get creative with the coloration of your Devon-dreads to dress up the look with streamers, a colorful wig or other similarly slinky material. Transform a winter coat with a New Mexico United shield sticker and your Meow Wolf Jersey underneath to captain your own hallowed crusade.
Better known by his Spanish pet name ‘El Gato Naranja,’ this crazy cat can either be clothed in bright orange or green. If you snagged one of our Official Orange Goalkeeper Jerseys, this is an easy one, but there is no one right way to cosplay Cody Mizell. Rock his perfectly coiffed hair in its’ squared-off style and goalie gloves of any color. Finish off the look with two sticks and a net, and you’re ready to make all the saves this Halloween.
Casting Santi as a matador on a recent 205 Front Row tifo was a dream come true for fans. With Moar’s famous goal celebration (a nod to his Spanish heritage), it was only a matter of time before his dance would inspire art. This image came to life in his playoff celebration with the help of a collared matador’s cape fans brought him to flourish for the occasion. This pink and yellow tribute is a perfect costume, especially when swapped with black and yellow accents.
We also saw many a luchador marching in with The Curse. Stretch into a yellow or black bodysuit and cover your face with an epic, decorated mask bearing our team colors, so you can sport this festive look into the arena.
Our mustachioed defender, Manny Padilla, makes a statement on the pitch with his lip whiskers. In a similar fashion, you can put on your best Padilla by rockin’ our Meow Wolf Home Jersey or Kraneshares Away Jersey with some similarly colored shorts and spiking that hair. Get yourself a stick-on mustache or grow a beauty yourself!
Pro-tip: Keep that mustache for an early start to Movember!
What does the ultimate United fan look like on Halloween night? Maybe one of our Meow Wolf Night costumed looks suits your fancy. If you’re thinking bigger, dress as The Curse or the entire stadium full of crazy fans! You may even want to parade around as certain front office staff. Maybe this Halloween you’ll have a #Tylering moment or you’re a ref with a yellow card in your front pocket, ready to pull on a coworker at the slightest grievance.
There is no limit to the creativity of our fans, so we are confident that no matter how you dress, you’ll be United with us. Just be sure to tag us in any of these inspired looks or in whatever tribute outfit you come up with for this holiday!
