A native of Pinar del Río, Cuba, Raiko Arozarena joined the Black & Yellow ahead of the 2026 season following two standout seasons with Las Vegas Lights FC. The Cuban international arrived in New Mexico with extensive USL Championship and international experience, having also played for the Tampa Bay Rowdies and Forward Madison FC.

Arozarena established himself as one of the USL Championship’s top goalkeepers during his time in Las Vegas. Across the 2024 and 2025 seasons, he made 50 appearances across the regular season and playoffs, recording 152 saves and 19 clean sheets. In 2024, Arozarena helped lead Las Vegas to the first USL Championship Playoffs appearance in club history and played a pivotal role in the Lights’ penalty shootout victory over Sacramento Republic FC in the Western Conference Quarterfinals. 

Arozarena followed that performance with another impressive campaign in 2025, recording a career-high 10 regular-season clean sheets. His 10th shutout set both a personal and Las Vegas club record, and he earned USL Championship Team of the Week honors after making five saves in the scoreless draw against Miami FC. Earlier in the season, he also earned Team of the Week recognition after a five-save shutout against Loudoun United FC and was selected to the USL Jägermeister Cup Team of the Round Bench following a penalty save against Orange County SC. 

Prior to his time in Las Vegas, Arozarena joined the Tampa Bay Rowdies in 2021 and was part of a squad that captured the USL Championship Players’ Shield and Eastern Conference title. He later spent part of the 2022 season on loan with Forward Madison FC, recording four clean sheets in 16 appearances. 

On the international stage, Arozarena made his senior debut for Cuba in 2022 and has represented his country in Concacaf Nations League competition, FIFA World Cup Qualifying and the 2023 Concacaf Gold Cup. Through his signing with New Mexico, he had earned 17 international caps and recorded six clean sheets for Cuba. 

Arozarena made his second USL Championship start for New Mexico on May 20, 2026, delivering four saves in a narrow 1-0 defeat as he worked to keep United within striking distance throughout the match.
