New Mexico’s recently announced United Soccer League franchise (USLNM) brings opportunities for economic development to New Mexico. Poised to hire 55 by the opening game in March 2019, 22 of those positions will be hired before the end of 2018. USLNM maintains a mission that is “bigger than soccer.” USLNM has the goal of becoming a well-respected, championship-caliber soccer club, but beyond that, the organization strives to be a pillar of economic growth and provide employment opportunities for New Mexicans.
“We want to be recognized as a best place to work,” said USLNM President and Team Owner Peter Trevisani. “We will invest in our employees’ wellness and professional development, while providing meaningful work in a high-energy environment.”
As the first pro-team of its caliber in New Mexico, the employment opportunities with an emerging sports franchise are unique, and provide a chance for employees to work within the active and exciting professional sports world.
“Our employees will help to build the foundational operations and corporate culture that will lead to prosperous growth for decades to come. We are not a traditional firm, so we need people who are prepared to work in a passionate and gritty way,” said Trevisani.
In addition to the open positions are roles for highly qualified interns to work with a cross-functional team, lasting 3-6 months in duration and serving critical functions for day-to-day operations and ongoing initiatives within the organization. Interns will have the opportunity to learn aspects of the business including Media, Multimedia, Communications, Analytics, Marketing, Community Outreach, and Design.
