(August 26, 2021) Albuquerque, NM – New Mexico United and the Somos Unidos Foundation are thrilled to announce the signing of the sixth and seventh Academy contracts in their history. Midfielders Dane Gallegos and Taylor Rogers will join the New Mexico United Academy Team for the 2021 season. Both players have won titles in New Mexico and have performed excellently for the United Academy.
“Dane & Taylor’s talents are numerous and unquestionable,” said New Mexico United Head Coach & Technical Director Troy Lesesne. “But more important than their skill is their commitment to hard work, humility and diligence. These two young men are incredible leaders and have earned this step.”
Both Gallegos and Rogers have been fully-scholarshipped into the New Mexico United Academy, thanks to the work of the Somos Unidos Foundation and donations from generous New Mexicans. This means they do not have to pay for equipment, travel, training or any other costs associated with play.
