New Mexico United fell by a 0-1 score to Charleston Battery on Saturday night, with Augustine Williams scoring the only matches only goal in the 74th minute – a deflected header, off the return pass from a free kick. United received eleven yellow cards in the match. 9,034 fans attended the match.
The match was the first for loanee goalkeeper Andrew Thomas. Thomas joined the Black & Yellow on loan from Seattle Sounders FC on Friday, and suited up just 24 hours later. He played well – winning 3/3 of duels, and 2/2 aerial duels, and making one save.
