Well New Mexico wraps up the wettest September in a long time Tulsa will also be getting some rain. At kick off rain is expected in the Tulsa metro area so expect this match to be a defensive slog for both teams backlines. Key to New Mexico United picking up all three points in Tulsa will be Kipp Keller and Kris Shakes. Kipp Keller ranks 6th in the USL Championship and 2nd in the Western Conference in Clearances with 143 this season. As for Shakes he has been nothing short of remarkable as he leads the USL Championship in saves with 96. That is six more than second place and 13 more than the next Western Conference keeper.

New Mexico United and FC Tulsa have had many great battles with the two teams having a split record in this Route 66 Derby. The all time record is split 4-4-2 (W-L-D) but FC Tulsa has had the better of the Black and Yellow having a record of 3-1-1 in the last five meetings. United however evened up the series in the last meeting at Rio Grande Credit Union Field at Isotopes Park last month. As for FC Tulsa they will look to Lamar Batista to anchor their backline with his 87 clearances and two goals this season.
