LOCAL CREDIT UNION PITCHES IN FOR NEW MEXICO UNITED FAN TRIP TO MINNESOTA FOR U.S. OPEN CUP QUARTERFINALS
First Financial Credit Union provides generous donation to help get New Mexico United fans to Minnesota to witness New Mexico sports history
(ALBUQUERQUE, NM) New Mexico United’s fairytale run in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup continues as they head to Minnesota, to take on Major League Soccer team Minnesota United FC in Round 6 of the tournament on July 10. Throughout the Open Cup tournament, New Mexico United fans have already packed busses to follow the team to Arizona, Colorado and Texas.
The distance and cost to get Minnesota was daunting at first, and fans put out the call on social media for assistance. First Financial Credit Union immediately contacted New Mexico United and offered to help subsidize the cost for the fan base.
“We have spoken from day one about bringing our community together in a way it’s never been brought together before and I can not think of a better example than the experience of this trip,” said CEO and Owner of New Mexico United, Peter Trevisani. “It’s amazing to see First Financial Credit Union make such a strong commitment to our community and provide positive outcomes for their fellow New Mexicans. Many people would not be able to experience this game and represent our state without them.”
New Mexico United will be chartering a plane for fans featuring a ticket at $249 (before tax) – almost half the cost of major airlines thanks to First Financial Credit Union’s contribution. This price will also include a limited-edition t-shirt, transportation to the match, admission into the game and a swag bag. New Mexico United is also working to secure discounted block pricing for lodging.
Tickets will go live on Tuesday, June 25, with a link being pushed across New Mexico United social channels. Space is limited, so those wishing to take advantage of this opportunity should purchase as soon as possible. Ticket sales will be limited to two per person, and fans must be 18 or over to purchase.
“First Financial Credit Union is excited to work with New Mexico United, a team that is celebrating its one year anniversary this month! New Mexico United brings enthusiasm and family enjoyment like we haven’t seen, uniting communities and the people of New Mexico in new and fun ways,” said President and CEO of First Financial Credit Union, Ron Moorehead. “First Financial is a New Mexico credit union, and a proud supporter of the team and the people that support us.”
