(ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico) Orange County SC (OCSC) came to the Land of Enchantment ready for a big battle. In a performance they essentially dominated wire to wire, OCSC defeated New Mexico United 2:0.
Jerry van Wolfgang notched the first goal for the visitors in the 52nd minute when Darwin Jones’ ball found him on the left side of the box. Just 3 minutes later, Michael Seaton scored the 2nd from the right side of the box.
Lightening delays played a major role in the pace of the match. Halftime was doubled because of lightening strikes in the area, and in the 59th minute the ref determined that lightening had struck too close again, and the game was delayed another 30+ minutes
Following the delay, New Mexico were able to put together a few dangerous attacks, but ultimately couldn’t get balls past OCSC Goalkeeper, Frederick Due. The quest to get their season back to winning form continues, next Sunday, as they travel to Oklahoma City to battle Energy FC.
