(December 7, 2020) Albuquerque, NM – New Mexico United and the Somos Unidos Foundation are honored to announce their role as founding partners of “Women in Soccer,” a global movement aimed at connecting ALL women and allies who love the beautiful game, and elevating representation, status and opportunities for women across soccer.
“We are beyond excited to join women and allies across soccer to fight for positive change and representation within our footballing world,” said Chanel Wiese, Executive Director of the Somos Unidos Foundation. “We have the power to make the soccer world one that represents – and is accessible to – everyone. That starts with advocating for women of all races, religions, identities, and statuses. We are honored to be part of that fight within our community.”
"New Mexico United and their Somos Unidos Foundation are doing game-changing things in the USL to increase diversity in coaching and beyond, and we are honored to have their support,” said Courtney Caroll Levinsohn, Founder of Women in Soccer. “As a WIS founding partner, New Mexico Untied and the Somos Unidos Foundation will have the opportunity to promote their incredible work to a wider audience while continuing to be a supportive community to their employees and fans."
