United looks to make the best of a packed house Friday Night
New Mexico is back home after coming back from Sin City with a victory over Las Vegas Lights in what was the Black and Yellows last visit to Cashman Field. Now coming home they face a tough Indy Eleven side that has shown that it can make a run at a top 4 spot in the Eastern Conference this season. Here’s everything you need to know!
We Salute You
On Friday Night New Mexico United will honor the men and women who have served in the military and as first responders during Friday Nights match. Pre match will feature a playing of Taps to honor all those we have lost in as well as the victims of the September 11th attacks in the 25th anniversary of the tragedy. Fans will be able to pick up “I Salute” posters where they write the names of first responders and veterans they salute to hold up during the magic minute. At halftime United will host a joint service swear-in ceremony along with a salute to our heros when services members, first responders and their families can come down and wave to the crowd well walking on the warning track.
Howdy Charlie
New Mexico United is set on bringing the state of New Mexico its first pro championship this season and with that goal in mind United made sure to add some fire power for the final stretch. This week the club announced that they had acquired attacking Midfielder Charlie Dennis from Rival Phoenix Rising FC via loan. Dennis brings a wealth of experience in the USL Championship being one of the league’s best scoring midfielders. The explosive midfielder is excited to play in front of the Black and Yellow faithful saying “I’ve felt this atmosphere many times and I’m looking forward to being on the right side of it.” United also recalled Midfielder Marlon Vargas from loan with Union Omaha on Wednesday and signed Goalkeeper Andrew Pannenberg for the rest of the season. All these moves happened before the Monday roster freeze.
We Don’t Talk About Bruno
Bruno Rendon has been nothing short of remarkable this season for Indy Eleven leading the attack for the Eastern Conference side. Bruno this season has accounted for eight goals on 39 shots.
