A Montclair, New Jersey native, Chris Gloster joined the Black & Yellow ahead of the 2024 season, bringing professional experience from the United States, Germany and the Netherlands, as well as extensive experience representing the United States at the youth international level.

Gloster quickly established himself as a key contributor for New Mexico in 2024, making 31 USL Championship appearances and 30 starts. He completed 82% of his passes and led United’s non-center backs with 48 clearances. Across all competitions, Gloster made 35 appearances during his first season in New Mexico, while recording 48 clearances, 24 interceptions and 109 duels won in league play. He signed a new contract with the club ahead of the 2025 season. 

In 2025, Gloster continued to be a consistent presence for the Black & Yellow, appearing in 29 USL Championship matches and making 25 starts while logging 2,149 minutes. His contributions helped United advance to the Western Conference Final for the first time in club history.

Gloster returned for his third season with New Mexico in 2026 and has remained an important part of United’s back line. His defensive work helped New Mexico allow just seven league goals between May 6 and early August. Gloster was also named Co-Pepsi Man of the Match following United’s 1-0 victory over Colorado Springs in August.
