Story
A native of Norman, Oklahoma, Ryden is one of the key figures in club history.
Serving as captain since 2021, Ryden has worn the armband more than any player in Black & Yellow. He joined United ahead of the 2020 season, after a championship run with Real Monarchs SLC. Since that time, he has been an imposing presence at the hear of the defense, appearing in 129 matches in all competitions, entering 2025, second all-time.
Ryden is United’s all-time leader in clearances (419) and blocks (83) entering 2025. Prior to his time in New Mexico, he spent two seasons with Real Monarchs SLC (2018-2019) where he captained the team to winning the 2019 USL Championship, and additional time with the Austin Aztex, Oklahoma City Energy, Columbus Crew SC, and Jacksonville Armada.
