This trip will mark the last visit to Cashman Field for United
New Mexico looks to have a little less conversation and more scoring action this weekend in the Nevada desert. United comes into this visit following a streak ending loss to rival San Antonio FC in Albuquerque on Saturday. Here is everything you need to know about the Black and Yellow’s visit to Vegas.
Funny how time slips away
Saturday night will mark the last trip the Black and Yellow will take to Cashman Field as it is set to close at the end of the season. The nearly 80 year old stadium has been a pleasant trip for New Mexico as they have picked up points in four of their five visits (2-2-1) to the stadium that once housed baseball, boxing, rodeos and so many of Vegas’ early sporting memories.
That’s All Right
Following United’s loss on Saturday to San Antonio FC captain Greg Hurst made sure everyone knew that the Black and Yellow was going to be just fine. Hurst has been a massive part of United’s attack leading the team in goals and only trailing the club record of 38 by just a few. After having one called back on Saturday for offsides he is ready to make an impact. Keep an eye out as well for Las Vegas native Zico Bailey who has also helped fuel a lot of United’s offensive output this season. The Philippines International just passed 100 club appearances with the Black and Yellow and is ready to add more to that list.
All Shook Up
Johnny Rodriguez has shaken the back of many nets this year leading the Lights with 11 goals and 47 shots. His scoring prowess has not slowed down at all over his career and has been a big reason the Lights are in playoff contention this season.
