On school days, Lindsey Allen can be found in room E115 of Volcano Vista High School teaching computer graphics to a full class of students. On match weekends and select Wednesday nights, however, she is likely to be found in ‘The Lab’ or at Starr Brothers Brewing Co. dressed in yellow and black from head to toe. Lindsey was a New Mexico United fan from the first pre-season match. She attended our inaugural match, supporting the team as a member of the tailgating and stadium crowds.
Lindsey eagerly jumped into learning how to use the new 3D printers at her school so she could share that knowledge with her students. She quickly became an expert and enjoyed creating these 3D designs so much she invested in a 3D printer herself, which evolved into Downright Nerdy Design. It was only a matter of time that her passion for New Mexico United would extend into this hobby as well. She experimented with different materials and, in the process, found a biodegradable polymer that was United yellow. With this yellow plant-based polymer she created earrings of the New Mexico United shield, along with other outlined designs. Lindsey’s fan creativity and artistry is not limited to jewelry making. On top of creating her beautiful earrings, she has gone so far as to create her own tifos.

The first creation to come out of the Allen garage was the ‘United for Salas’ tifo, which accompanied the commemorating song during our match against Cardiff City FC. In an ode to Emiliano Sala, one of their players who passed away earlier this year, the supporter’s section sang a ‘Song for Sala’ while Lindsey's tifo flew high. She was also behind the ‘Bruce Almighty’ tifo that made its appearance in the supporter’s section at our match against El Paso Locomotive on July 31. Some of her other tifos that have graced the supporter section are; 'Lesesne in the brain,' a playful nod to our Head Coach, at Meow Wolf Night and the ‘Killer Beez’ tifo in honor of Chris Wehan at our August 17 match against LA Galaxy II.

Lindsey travels to as many away matches with her husband Nathan as she can, including Colorado Springs and El Paso, and is a staple at the Starr Brothers Brewing Company Watch Parties for the away matches she cannot cheer for in person. She watched our Pride on the Pitch match from Thailand and our match against the Colorado Rapids on her phone from a suite in Bangkok. Her live goal reactions, streamed through her Instagram stories, are always highly talked about fan content.

Lindsey was among the lucky few that accompanied us on the First Financial Fan trip for our final stand in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. She enjoyed a couple of days in Minnesota and was right on the front lines to greet Saalih with a big hug after the match at Allianz Field.

Lindsey is ecstatic to be one of New Mexico United’s first artisans in our Artist Series. She is particularly passionate about the youth-focused mission that the purchase of her earrings will fund.
“It makes my heart so happy that all profits will be supporting the High Performance Program for Youth. As a former soccer player myself, I want to see the sport grow in our state and I think the HPP program will give our young players a goal to work toward,” said Allen.
Help her support this important cause and show your United pride at our next match with some shield earrings in three different yellow and black designs, available now in the team store at 3500 Central Ave SE Suite 2.
